Mostly sunny skies return to Delmarva today with temperatures reaching the low to mid 50’s. While many of us welcome an apparent early spring the weather is wreaking havoc on leaf bearing plants in the Southeast. Some plants are leafing out up to 20 days early as far north as the Delmarva Peninsula. This is a potential disaster if a heavy freeze is experienced in these areas over the next few weeks as the growing season approaches.
Temperatures will remain near 50 degrees for Monday with a chance of late day and overnight showers before more sunshine returns on Tuesday with temps topping out in the low 60’s.
