Jul 31/Mixed Bag Month Ends

What a mixed bag July was.  We experienced oppressive heat for the first part of the month…seeing a high temperature near 100 degrees without a drop of rain in sight.  Now we have recorded rainfall on 7 of the last 10 days with a good chance of afternoon thunderstorms again today.  As it stands this […]

Jul 29/Lasagna Eating Weather

In my mind eating lasagna is a terrific idea no matter the weather.  Actually, eating anything you like is a great idea.  You have my permission to “pig out” today!  Save dessert until tomorrow.

Jul 28/For Those Who Care

It is time to end the madness!  Here is a logical way to think about the math weather problem that has stumped everyone for the past 3 days.  Let me start by restating the problem. According to the National Weather Service there is a 90% chance of rain today, an 80% chance of rain on […]

Jul 28/I Was Afraid Of This!

The dreaded “triple dog dare” is now in play!  I did have a handful of answers submitted  yesterday to my math weather multiple choice question…all incorrect, I might add.  Therefore, today I will narrow the choices to two. According to the National Weather Service there is a 90% chance of rain today, an 80% chance […]

Two days with no takers forces me to make the weather math problem easier.  I have eliminated one of the choices, but I’m going to punish you with heat today! According to the National Weather Service there is a 90% chance of rain today, an 80% chance of rain on Thursday, and a 50% chance […]

Jul 26/Try Again Under Partly Cloudy Skies

There were lots of blog visitors yesterday, but there were no takers on the multiple choice questions.  We’ll try again under partly cloudy skies with warmer conditions.   According to the National Weather Service there is a 90% chance of rain today, an 80% chance of rain on Thursday, and a 50% chance of rain […]

Jul 25/Math & Weather

Some of you may be bored by all of the rain, so let’s test your weather math skills!  Doesn’t that sound like fun?  Here is the multiple choice question.  I’ll give you the answer later.  Let’s first see how many people are brave enough to post their answers. According to the National Weather Service there […]

Jul 24/Storms Continue To Train

The unusual July jet stream wind pattern is contributing to the unsettled weather we are experiencing.  A predominately southern wind flow causes any storms that form to “train” over the same area.  Expect that to continue into tomorrow and perhaps Thursday as well.

Jul 23/Thunderstorms Likely

The greatest threat for thunderstorms is this morning.  They will be more scattered in the afternoon and evening.  Expect this unsettled pattern to continue for the week with periods of heavy rainfall.
