Today is likely to be the warmest day thus far in 2020

Temperatures should rise to near 85 degrees today under sunny skies. The warm air will be ushered in by strong southwest breezes.

Saturday will see us reach the low 80’s under partly cloudy skies.

Now, here is what you don’t want to hear. A “cutoff” low pressure system is expected to form over the mid-Atlantic next week, tapping into moisture from what is expected to be the first tropical system of the year. The potential exists for a long period of rain as indicated in the following model.

As pattern amplifies over the weekend risky cutoff low develops over the Mid-Atlantic region. As #90L comes north some of its moisture gets tapped into this feature.
