The calendar turns from October to November and very little in our worlds has changed. The American government remains shutdown into a second month. Citizens are facing increases in healthcare premiums. Others are losing their SNAP benefits. The cost of groceries continues to soar and many people are without paychecks and the financial wherewithal to meet their obligations.

Meanwhile, our globetrotting president is traveling the world, accepting lavish gifts along the way, negotiating deals to end the mess he himself has created.

For one who has for years claimed to specialize in the “art of the deal”, the president refuses to even consider making a deal or initiating the deal making process that would fix our problems here at home.

Apparently there are bigger issues involving stroking the ego of a single man who gets what he wants, when he wants, all others be damned. Perhaps a ballroom?

Members of the House of Representatives have worked very little in the past three months. Their only accomplishment seems to be pushing news about the Epstein Files off the front pages of news sources. How long can that go on?

America needs a leader right now and is clearly without one.

The weekend looks bright on Delmarva as we will be subjected to mostly sunny skies today with a high near 62 degrees. We expect the thermometer to register in the low to mid 60’s on Sunday as well under mostly sunny skies.
