Friday the 13th and Reinstatement Day came and went without a hitch. Oh, what a relief it is!
Yesterday’s Friday the 13th was also National Kool Aid Day. I wonder how many people drank the orange Kool Aid only to be disappointed when Reinstatement Day flopped?
The next Friday the 13th will be on May 13, 2022. I’m certain that Reinstatement Day will be rescheduled…like it always has. Don’t fret the beverage though, as people always find a reason to drink the Kool Aid and that celebration will return on August 13, 2022.
Relief from the extended period of August heat that we’ve endured will arrive late today as scattered showers and thunderstorms accompany the passing cold front. We’ll first have to experience one more day of low 90’s heat. In will not be as warm as yesterday’s 98 degrees; the warmest day of 2021.
Hot and humid today. Strong to severe storms possible later today and tonight with damaging winds, large hail and frequent lightning possible. Additionally, locally heavy rainfall is possible, which could lead to localized flash flooding, of flood prone and/or urbanized areas. pic.twitter.com/D6rZ5sPUkt

Sunday will bring temps that are at least 10 degrees cooler under mostly cloudy skies. Expect a high near 82 degrees.
The days that follow are likely to contain some unsettled weather, the details of which are unclear at this time. Among the possible factors in our weather next week are what is likely to be Tropical Storm Fred and perhaps a tropical system named Grace.
The Florida Keys are under tropical storm warnings with #Fred predicted to pass over the islands on Saturday: https://t.co/bNVOnfMBsu

A one-two punch is a devastating scenario so all residents from Florida northward on the Atlantic coast should keep an eye out. Remember the paths of our last two significant rain events. Sometimes Mother Nature has a tendency to repeat herself.
Wow! The wind gusts last night were hurricane-level (in my limited view of all things weather). What was the speed? We were in Whitehaven and were in awe.
Thanks for your great posts!
