Areas along the coast of Delmarva were pummeled with record rains from Tropical Storm Fay yesterday in addition to winds of up to 57 mph. For the trivia buffs among us Fay represented the earliest arrival of an “F” storm in an Atlantic Hurricane Season.
Tropical Storm #Fay left Rehoboth Beach, DE with some beach erosion and tidal pools. Nearby Lewes gusted to 49 MPH & Ocean City, MD picked up 5.47" of rain. In Wicomico County the rainfall measured around an inch in western portions, to between 1.5 and 2.5 inches east of Salisbury.

Good. He can stay home and study his fractions!
Today will be calmer in comparison with a high temperature near 90 degrees and a chance of an isolated thunderstorm. It will be the start of an extended heat wave with a good chance that the thermometer will register in the 90’s for the next week and maybe longer.
There is the potential for temperatures to reach the highest levels of the summer so far in part of the Northeast next week: https://t.co/h4rRn9rm8c pic.twitter.com/007516G8mp
