Many Americans spend the day after Christmas either relaxing, returning gifts, or traveling. Our Canadian friends to the north, as well as many nations around the world with a connection to the UK, celebrate what is called Boxing Day.
The English set aside the day after Christmas as a day for workers and servants, who most likely had to work on Christmas Day, as a day where they could collect “boxes” rewarding them with tips and gifts for their service. It was their day off! There is no connection to the sport of boxing.
Whether you acknowledge Boxing Day or not, you will be blessed with fine weather today. Again we’ll see temps reach the 50’s under partly sunny skies. If you are a traveler be aware that the worst time to be on the roads today is between 4:30 and 6:30 PM. The weather will still be nice, but the flow of traffic may not!
Patchy dense fog is expected overnight. Use caution and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions. pic.twitter.com/Mx4AQYLX7y
