Our area remains under a Winter Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service for up to 2 inches of wet snow today.
Temperatures in the upper 30’s to near 40 degrees this morning will eventually fall late in the day when rain will have mixed with and likely changed to snow by evening.
The feeling from here is that the official forecast is overly ambitious and that the Salisbury area will end up with a dusting to one half inch of snow by the end of the day. This life long amateur observer finds it unlikely that a system ending in late wet snow will accumulate substantially after a prolonged period of warmer temps and rain unless marginal surface temperatures drop to the 33 to 34 degree range.
If the track and intensity of the precipitation changes during the day those changes will be posted here.
Monday will be sunny with a high near 41 degrees.
