Hurricane Milton has exploded in intensity to a Category 5 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 175 mph. It is headed directly towards Tampa, FL with an expected catastrophic landfall as early as Wednesday.
Some areas are still recovering from the damage from Hurricane Helene. Here is hoping that residents on the west coast of Florida in and around Tampa and St. Petersburg will heed the warnings of local officials and evacuate in order to avoid the colossal storm surge.

Our area will not feel the effects of the hurricane. We will be dealing with cooler, but seasonable temperatures in the low 70’s today with lots of sunshine.
After overnight low temperatures in the upper 40’s the mercury will again rise into the low 70’s on Wednesday.
