Americans join with the family of former President James Earl Carter in commemorating 100 remarkable years of humanitarian service on his 100th birthday.
A peanut farmer from Plains, GA Jimmy Carter attended the US Naval Academy in Annapolis and served his home state as a legislator and a governor before serving the United States as its president.
Americans on both sides of the political spectrum are in near unanimous agreement that Carter’s life of humanitarian service he has lead in the nearly 50 years since his presidency is unsurpassed by any citizen. He has won the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to encourage peace in the world and to this day serves as an American role model to generations of his countrymen.
Our weather is less of a celebration as cloudy skies will remain for a couple of more days with high temperatures reaching the low 70’s. A few showers are possible today.
