Clouds will roll in throughout the day with temperatures reaching about 46 degrees.
The area is officially under a Winter Weather Advisory for 1 to 3 inches of snow.
The view from here, however, as indicated by this morning’s NAM regional weather model is that Salisbury may well be on the low side of the 1 to 3 inch forecast, unless localized areas happen to be under one of the isolated bands of heavy snowfall overnight.
Some light rain may develop overnight and mix with and likely change to snow during the early morning on Saturday. Since the precipitation will be falling during hours of darkness it may well accumulate up to an inch in Salisbury. Points north of Salisbury may receive two or three inches of snow.
Models are indicating that there may be some heavy bands of snowfall for a short period within the 10 PM to 8 AM time range.
Had some people ask if I could tweet what the GRAF looked like for this event. Here's the latest run with it. Quick hit event, but leaves about 1-4" of snow widespread. Likely melt a lot of that off pretty quick by Saturday afternoon and Sunday with some sunshine. pic.twitter.com/WxBTYbllaZ

The afternoon should be partly cloudy, but temps will only reach about 42 degrees. The bit of sunshine and temperatures of above 40 degrees should cause any accumulating snow to melt rather quickly, eliminating travel troubles during the afternoon.
Sunday is expected to remain chilly under a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid 40’s.
