Morning thunderstorms, some perhaps with heavy rain, will transition to rain showers throughout the day. Most areas can expect an inch or more of rain before it tapers off in the afternoon.
Showers and storms continue through the afternoon. A few storms may be strong to perhaps severe across SE VA/NE NC. A cold front pushes through late today/this evening with cooler, drier weather returning through the weekend. #vawx #ncwx #mdwx pic.twitter.com/aEW6sHUJOd

While much of the country has received its share of violent spring weather it appears that the severe threat that even includes tornadoes should stay to our south.
High temperatures today should reach near 70 degrees. Tomorrow will bring slightly cooler temps, in the mid 60’s, under partly cloudy skies.
