There is a lot going on in Salisbury this weekend that involves outdoor activities in near 90 degree heat.
The National Folk Festival returns downtown for its fifth year and the Delmarva Shorebirds welcome baseball’s top draft pick, Jackson Holliday, to their roster.
There is no reason to leave town to be entertained this weekend as the festival runs through Sunday and the Shorebirds have home games through Sunday as well.
The festival will return next year as the Maryland Folk Festival. There is no guarantee that Jackson Holliday will return to Delmarva next year as he is likely to be promoted rather swifty. In his debut last evening Holliday played shortstop, had a double, and knocked in two of the Shorebirds three runs in their 7 to 3 loss.
Temperatures on Saturday are expected to be near 90 degrees and scattered thunderstorms will be possible with the passing of a front during the afternoon. A washout is not expected downtown for the festival and a rain delay should not be a problem for the baseball game in the evening.
