Can you put down your smartphone for 24 hours? “National Day of Unplugging” is observed beginning at sundown today and ending at sundown tomorrow.

The challenge is to reconnect with people on a personal level rather than through technology for just a day.  Can you do it, or will you be bewildered by how your parents and grandparents ever survived without an electronic device at their disposal all the time?

There will be no messaging, no email,  no texting, no tweeting, no surfing the internet, no nothing!

I will try to unplug for a day.  Although my weather forecast for tomorrow will be posted, I give you my personal assurance, for what it is worth, that it will be written prior to sundown tonight, and posted automatically tomorrow morning via my blog publishing software. You’ll really never know though, will you?

Of course, I do not expect you to read it.  You’ll be sharing real conversations with real people, talking about things that matter, in order to brighten someone’s day, won’t you?

So, what’s up for today before you unplug? Rain! Highs should reach the upper 40’s. Skies will begin to clear overnight bringing us a partly cloudy, windy, and cool Saturday.
