This is our 2131st consecutive daily post. The blog just passed Lou Gehrig!
Skies will be mostly sunny today with temperatures in the mid 80’s. This sets us up for a glorious August weekend all across the Delmarva Peninsula.
Saturday will offer brilliant sunshine, low humidity, and temperatures in the low 80’s. That’s well below normal for this part of August.
Sunday is expected to be warmer with partly cloudy skies and temps in the mid to upper 80’s.
While enjoying the pleasant weekend please be advised that there are areas in the Atlantic Basin that may provide us with trouble in the near future.
Out west California is bracing for the impacts of Hurricane Hilary. It is nearing Category 5 intensity and would be the first hurricane landfall in California since 1939.
This weekend, Hurricane Hilary will be moving over the driest parts of the USA.
Hilary will bring 5-10 inches (125-250mm) of rain to places like Palm Springs, Death Valley and Las Vegas.
That's 2-3 *years* worth of rain in 2-3 days.
