Hip Hop music celebrates its 50th anniversary this weekend. How the musical genre got its name is up for debate, but many attribute the name to the 1979 hit by the Sugarhill Gang. In the following video you can clearly hear that the first two words uttered by the lead singer were “hip hop”.

Our forecast for the weekend calls for hot and humid weather with mostly sunny skies and temperatures reaching the low 90’s on both Saturday and Sunday. Rain is not expected.
