A much more comfortable day is ahead with sunny skies and temperatures reaching the mid 80’s. Wednesday will be mostly sunny as well with temperatures warming into the upper 80’s.
The Lower Eastern Shore was subjected to severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings last night. The map above shows that our area largely escaped what was otherwise widespread damaging weather up and down the East Coast.
This weather station received 2.17 inches of rain yesterday while areas to our west and north received substantially more. A large number of lightning strikes, 14603 to be exact, occurred within 25 miles of Salisbury.
Cambridge was placed under an emergency flood alert early in the evening while isolated areas in Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset Counties will have to wait for daylight to ascertain the damage that may have occurred overnight.
