Delmarva finds itself in the midst of a heat wave as daytime high temperatures are surging into the mid 90’s. Some areas may even reach the upper 90’s. There are isolated chances of thunderstorms, but most of us will feel no relief. Even overnight low temps may not dip much below 80 degrees.
The Salisbury area is under an excessive heat warning, meaning that heat indices could reach 105 degrees or more, until 4 PM on Saturday. This morning’s temperature at 5 AM in Salisbury registered 81 degrees.
The heat will continue into the weekend with a better chance of scattered thunderstorms late in the day on Saturday. Sunday may see high temps that dip back into the upper 80’s.
