This past weekend was full of Barbie buzz. Millions of movie goers escaped the heat to see the movie of the same name. The weekend also was marked by the passing of the iconic American crooner Tony Bennett at age 96.
Barbara Millicent Roberts was the name given to the doll character in books that were written in the early 1960’s. The beautiful painting above was created by the multi-talented Anthony Benedetto who, on the advice of comedian Bob Hope, changed his name to Tony Bennett for marketing purposes in the entertainment industry.
Our hope for pleasant weather may be dampened on this Monday as there is a really good chance of scattered thunderstorms. Temperatures should reach the low 80’s.
While Tuesday is expected to be a typical July day with mostly sunny skies and temps in the upper 80’s the remainder of the week appears as though Delmarva will be greeted by its first really sweltering heat wave of the summer. Late week temps will likely rise into the mid 90’s.
