25 Degrees Colder Today

Unusually warm springtime air that almost everyone enjoys comes with a price. We paid the price with yesterday’s line of thunderstorms that brought with it small hail and 1.73 inches of rain. It is leaving behind much colder air today on Delmarva.

After experiencing three days just above 80 degrees the Salisbury area wakes up on this Good Friday with much different conditions. Skies will be cloudy today with high temperatures reaching the upper 50’s to perhaps 60 degrees. There is a chance of an isolated shower particularly this afternoon.

The advance of yesterday’s storm system prompted MLB teams up and down the eastern seaboard to preemptively cancel all of their games 24 hours in advance. That means that Orioles fans who had looked forward to 80 degree weather for their Opening Day baseball game will now have to sit through a rescheduled game today with much cooler conditions.

The much cooler weather will also put a damper on Easter Egg hunt activities as well as other gatherings over the weekend as temps are not expected to return to normal levels until Monday at the earliest.
