Overcast skies with occasional shower activity will greet Maryland’s new leadership team today with a high temperature near 58 degrees. Democrat Wes Moore, who succeeds Larry Hogan, was inaugurated yesterday in Annapolis as Maryland’s 63rd governor and begins his first full day on the job today.
Salisbury Mayor Jake Day joins Moore’s cabinet as Secretary of Housing and Community Development. Day will be succeeded by Jack Heath at the end of the month. Heath was appointed to complete Day’s mayoral term by the Salisbury City Council two nights ago.
Partly sunny skies will return on Friday as temps reach the low 50’s. It is a near certainty that reviews of the new administration’s performance will already be available for your enjoyment on social media. This writer prefers to judge later.
