The weather on Delmarva is about to go downhill over the weekend. Rain from the remnants of Hurricane Ian is expected to develop throughout the day and lead to a nighttime of steady rain.
High temperatures today will reach about 66 degrees and remain in the 60’s overnight as winds kick up. Most on Delmarva can expect close to 2 inches of rain by daybreak on Saturday. Some areas may experience areas of heavy rainfall.
Rain and thunderstorms will continue on Saturday with locally heavy rainfall. Do not be surprised if you see a few peeks of sun as temps will soar into the upper 70’s.
The effects of Ian’s remnants will continue into Monday.
This morning Hurrican Ian is packing 85 mph winds as it slowly moves towards the Carolinas. The outer bands of rain already appear on our 5 AM radar.
Our area will see nothing like the devastation across the Sunshine State. Sanibel and Captiva Islands, a hot spot for tourism, cannot be reached via the roadways.
