Hot temps remain today under partly cloudy skies. They should not, however, reach the yearly high of 96 degrees that was recorded yesterday. Salisbury should reach temperatures near 92 degrees with just the slightest chance of a pop-up thunderstorm.
Scattered thunderstorms are possible overnight leading into another hot day on Saturday. Highs are again expected in the low 90’s with a chance of thunderstorms.

Appreciable relief is not expected until perhaps the middle of next week. The best news for coastal communities is that the Atlantic basin remains free of tropical activity.
