It won’t really be hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk today, but 95 degrees coupled with sunshine and humidity may tempt you to try it.
Let me egg-splain. The sidewalk would need to maintain a temperature of 160 degrees long enough to transfer the energy to the egg. While possible, it is certainly not likely. I’m not yolk’in!
The heat on Delmarva will persist at least one more day as Saturday’s daytime highs are again expected to reach the mid 90’s.
If and when we top 90 degrees this afternoon it will become the sixth consecutive day of our July heat wave. Saturday will become the seventh before some welcome relief arrives by Sunday.
Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop overnight Saturday into Sunday, with Sunday high temps dropping into the mid 80’s.
