March kicks in with weather for the birds

At least the birds like all this rain… even this rare half male, half female cardinal that was seen in Pennsylvania last week.

March begins as February ended, with rain. After some early morning fog the rain should begin again and end by early afternoon with temperatures near 60 degrees.

A cold front will sweep through the area this afternoon, driving overnight lows into the 20’s, followed by a 40 degree day on Tuesday.

The cold weather will be short lived, however, as 50 degree weather returns on Wednesday.

February temperatures averaged 0.2 degrees below normal, marking the first below average monthly temperature since May of last year. The first two months of 2020, however, see our average daily temperature checking in at 0.9 degrees above normal. By early appearances it looks as though 2021 may well average warmer than normal.
