Snow, which finally began falling in earnest last night, has accumulated to about 2 inches in Salisbury. It will end sometime this morning. Perhaps, even after it ends, we may see a glaze of ice form from some patchy freezing drizzle.
With most of the area reading about 28 degrees the early morning commute could present a problem. Worcester County has already closed schools today. Wicomico County schools will operate virtually.
The rest of the morning should remain cloudy with isolated snow showers and perhaps some freezing rain. Today’s high temperature should be in the low to mid 30’s, which reminds us of the dangers of ice on top of snow.
As night time temps dip back below freezing we will want to be on guard for perhaps a few periods of freezing rain. A real danger exists that we could pick up some significant icing overnight. Be on guard!

The next several days will remain cold with multiple opportunities for mixed precipitation. The imminent threat for tomorrow seems, at this time, to be the threat of early freezing rain before another period of just rain is possible in the afternoon.
