I find it unthinkable that Donald Trump is promoting herd immunity as the way to end the COVID-19 pandemic. Having one who would deny science in the White House is a danger to all and trivializes the contributions of Anthony Fauci and the thousands of other medical professionals who have devoted their lives to the health and well being of humanity.
It is estimated that between 2 and 6 million Americans could die within a year’s time if the concept of developing herd immunity was adopted. I will not volunteer.
There is a reason that polio, measles, and chicken pox do not kill thousands of people, and it is not herd immunity. It is a vaccination. Let’s develop a COVID-19 vaccine in a responsible fashion and save as many lives as possible.
I am happy that Donald Trump was able to receive the best health care in the world in order to fight his infection. The rest of us would not be as fortunate.
Since the White House has officially embraced "HERD IMMUNITY" as our national strategy for covid, it's time for a friendly reminder.
