September begins like August ended with a few isolated sprinkless and mostly cloudy skies.  High temperatures should reach about 80 degrees or so, and the final full moon of the summer of 2020 will be visible this evening.

The clouds should thin out a bit by afternoon and we’ll be able to see the sun.  The next few days after today should offer much more summer like temperatures as we warm up to near 90 degrees.  The tropical system that has formed off of the Carolina coast is expected to move out to sea.

August was the third consecutive month that was warmer than normal; by more than 3.5 degrees. We also recorded 8.57 inches of rain. That was a good 3.5 inches above normal. It will be interesting to see if that pattern continues into September.
