A gorgeous day will end with a Super Worm Moon

The moon and Earth are at perigee today as there are only 222,081 miles separating the heavenly bodies.  That is about 16,000 miles closer than it averages during the year.  That also is the closest that the moon comes to our planet during the year and, since it is accompanied by a full moon, the moon will appear larger and much brighter than normal tonight.  This particular super moon is called the Super Worm Moon because worms begin to appear in greater numbers as the weather warms.

The view this evening should be spectacular given that we are expecting clear skies and abundant sunshine today.  Temperatures are expected to soar into the mid to upper 60’s in the Salisbury area.  Southwest breezes could make things cooler in the Ocean City area.

Clouds will be on the increase throughout the day on Tuesday while temps remain warm.
