It is rare when all of the lower 48 states are precipitation free for an entire day. Today is expected to be one such day and is thus known in meteorological circles as “Blank Map Friday!”
Our portion of the map will include brilliant sunshine with a high temperature in the upper 30’s to near 40 degrees.
The sunshine hangs around again tomorrow as the mercury climbs to about 50 degrees.
We missed out on a southern snow storm yesterday as indicated in the satellite imagery.
UPDATE: @NOAA's #GOES16 is using its #Snow/#Cloud Layers imagery to show the #snowfall that is stretching from #TN to #MD this morning (bright blue-white shading). Several inches fell on parts of #NC & #VA, including a record 2.5" at @RDUAirport according to @NWSRaleigh. #NCwx pic.twitter.com/EJYARJe4ds
