With a September snowstorm out west and summer like heat in our neck of the woods some of us are beginning to wonder if we’ll ever see autumn.
We’re also wondering if we’ll ever see rain again. Lawns are beginning to look bone dry as we bask under the early fall heat. Today will give us mid 80’s heat again while the first part of the work week will bring us pleasant, but continued dry, conditions.
The extended outlook really doesn’t give us much hope for rain until perhaps the end of the week and, even that, is not a certainty. If we receive no rainfall, either today or tomorrow, then September’s total precipitation for Salisbury will come in at under an inch. That is incredibly dry. Since September 17 my weather station has recorded a whopping .01 inch of rain.
