We’ve been fortunate to have experienced some comfortable midsummer temperatures over this past weekend. We’ve been waking to mornings that feel like September.
What’s up with that?
Well, when a high pressure system is bordered by a low pressure system to the west and another to the east, all of the hot air gets cut off from swiftly moving from west to east as it normally does. This is called an Omega blocking pattern because it appears as the Greek letter of the same name when viewed on the weather map.
We should gradually warm up this work week as the system slowly nudges to the east. It is expected that as it moves by we may experience some scattered thunderstorms around mid week. Then, it should cool down again.
