It is expected that today will be cooler with isolated thunderstorms possible. Yesterday saw us surprisingly top 90 degrees for the 6th consecutive day. I do not think we will surpass the mid 80’s today.
What is even more surprising was the line of potent thunderstorms that seemed to drive right down Route 13 late yesterday from north to south. They dumped heavy rainfall on the entire area. I do not remember a time when a line of storms followed that north-south trajectory. This morning’s radar, pictured above shows that the band is now located a bit west of us. I think it may work its way back toward us today and tomorrow.
The cooler air, although still humid, will stick around through Saturday with isolated thunderstorms on the agenda for nearly everyone. Temperatures should reach near 90 again by Sunday.
