Yesterday’s oppressive heat and humidity, which saw the mercury top out at 97 degrees, was the hottest day of 2019. It marked four continuous days of 90 degree plus heat that ended with some pretty strong thunderstorms.
We should reach the mid 90’s again today with another chance of late day thunderstorms. That will mark the 5th day of our July heat wave.
Can it get any worse? Yes, it can. Friday’s temperature should reach the upper 90’s and both days of the weekend will see temps rise to near 100 degrees. The earliest signs of relief from the heat will not be seen before Tuesday of next week.
Stay hydrated, my friends!
