The hottest day of 2019 is likely today with parts of the Delmarva area experiencing upper 90’s heat. This follows yesterday’s yearly high of 95 degrees at 3:08 PM.
Did you know that more than three times as many fatalities occur from heat as from the cold? And, with our proximity to the ocean, you may be surprised to find that many fewer people die from getting swept out to sea in a rip current than succumbing to the heat.
Don’t take the heat lightly. Stay hydrated and check on the well being of the elderly and others who might need assistance.
The heat will stick around for Sunday as well. Let’s hope for some shower activity that gives us some relief. Eastern Wicomico County as well as parts of Somerset and Worcester received a pop up thunderstorm yesterday afternoon.
