The Chesapeake Bay area is caught in a ring of fire for the next couple of days; so called because the humid warm air wraps around the high pressure system in a clockwise manner, thus giving us warm southwest winds, humid conditions, and the chance of thunderstorms. As a result we can expect sultry conditions with temperatures in the low 90’s. Storms that develop could be potent.
Maybe you can take a break from the heat and enjoy a classic “Ring of Fire” from the man in black, Johnny Cash.
If the high pressure system stays a bit to the south we can expect temperatures to cool slightly. If the ridge builds farther north then temperatures will soar.
