Salisbury MD Weather...SBYwx.blog

Today is the shortest day of the year.

almanacThe Winter Solstice occurs at 5:23 PM this afternoon, making today the shortest day of the year.  Wouldn’t you know that the one day on which I have so much to do would be the shortest day of the whole darn year?  I hate when that happens!

The sun will set tonight at 4:46 PM.  We may not see it with all of the rain.  When it rises tomorrow we should finally see peeks of sunshine as it ushers in a day that lasts 9 hours and 29 minutes.  Beginning tomorrow we can officially look forward to spring as the number of hours of daylight will slowly, but surely, increase on each successive day.

Next thing you know, it’ll be spring!

In the meantime it appears as though December will end with rather mild weather.  Sunshine looks to be on the agenda through Christmas Day with little or no chance of seeing snow on the ground.
