Probably not! All forecast models give residents of Delmarva little hope of seeing a White Christmas in 2018. Dream on!
A White Christmas is defined in meteorological terms as an inch or more of snow on the ground on December 25. This year, as in almost every year, your best chance of seeing snow for Christmas is in Buffalo, NY.
We will be experiencing a wet weekend with mild temperatures. A cool down is expected briefly as sunshine returns next week before another warm up.
Long range models suggest that some precipitation is likely later in the month, but temperature projections do not support any substantial snowfall chances. One long range model, however, projects a possible rain/snow mix around Christmas that is dependent upon the timing. In other words, it would need to be overnight into the morning. I post this for those who truly dream about such things! Sometimes dreams come true!
