Take great care in tending to any outdoor fires as the warm and dry weather we’ve experienced thus far during early fall can likely increase the danger of them spreading.
Temperatures are expected to return to the 80’s today and throughout the week ahead. The dry conditions may not end until late in the week. I would not put much credence into some local forecasts calling for rain before late Wednesday into Thursday.
East coast residents should keep an eye on a developing tropical storm off the coast of Belize. Historically, tropical systems that develop in this area at this time of the year tend to track to the north-northeast. If that track occurs we can expect the possibility that some heavy tropical moisture could exacerbate the rainy conditions we already expect for late in the week.
If the system does reach tropical storm status and then possibly hurricane status before coming ashore on the southeast Gulf coast it would be named Michael.
