This 5 AM radar image of the east coast shows the outer bands of Hurricane Florence wrapping around the eye wall of the storm several hundred miles from its center, bringing us rounds of showers and thunderstorms today. It will be breezy as well today with coastal flooding an issue on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries.
Hurricane Florence should be coming ashore this morning near Wilmington, North Carolina. Ir is expected to linger for a few days as it slowly creeps westward and then makes a turn to the north.
A turn then to the northeast is expected from Florence that could circle around and give us a heavy dose of moisture by Tuesday of next week. Don’t let your guard down just yet.
