This line of thunderstorms, pictured in the 5:30 AM radar, is about to rumble through the area this morning. Showers will linger through the afternoon with the possibility of other storms as well. Mother nature seems to be keeping the bulk of today’s precipitation to our north and east.
Visitors to the National Folk Festival were fortunate that Friday’s thunderstorms swept through Salisbury prior to the evening open of the event. Let’s hope again that the thunder and lightning are out of the area prior to the opening of today’s festival. Even if the showers persist this afternoon people should be able to take cover and enjoy the pleasantly cooler temperatures. With a little luck we could conceivably stay dry this afternoon.
