Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman to rocket into space and return safely to earth on this date in 1963,  The Soviet pioneer and others like her paved the way for space exploration which led, of course, to weather satellites.

Today’s view from space would show the hot weather continuing.  Hopefully, we will see some rain today.  It has been absent for a week.
