Steve Wonder released “You are the Sunshine of My LIfe” on this date in 1983.  The sun is playing chicken with us again today, which reminds me also that “The Chicken Song” was #1 on the British charts on this  date in 1988. Da da da da da da da,…da da da da da da da!  Yes, the British….the same British that gave us William Shakespeare, Winston Churchill, the Beatles, a Royal wedding this weekend, and really well done beef!

Locally, chicken is still king, and the sun is playing chicken again today.  In a month where Salisbury had no rain for the first eleven days we’ve now seen nearly four inches of rain in the past 6 days.  The end is not in sight for at least three days.  11- 4 – 6 sounds like the beginning to a perfect lottery ticket.

I think the rain and thunderstorms are likely to be heavy overnight into Friday.  That’s OK, though, because I’m going to get a good night’s sleep, get up early Saturday, watch the Royal wedding, and hope to see Harry and Meghan do the Chicken Dance at their reception.
