If you’re a frequent visitor to this blog then you know that I’m a lifelong baseball fan, particularly of the Baltimore Orioles.
I’m not a fair weather fan who only follows my team when they’re playing well. I’m a true fan through good times and bad times. Right now, times are bad! I mean really bad!
50 years ago today, my little sister, who couldn’t care less about baseball, attended a game in Baltimore at Memorial Stadium as part of a school patrol trip. I’m sure she had a good time, but I bet she watched none of the game.
Meanwhile, back at home, I watched the game on TV as my Orioles defeated the Boston Red Sox by a score of 6 to 0. I was happy that they won, but livid that my little sister, attending her first baseball game ever, saw Baltimore native Tom Phoebus throw a no-hitter against the Red Sox. I still haven’t seen one in person! By the looks of things my Orioles may never win again, let alone win with a no-hitter.
My Orioles have been pretty predictable lately. I think once we get through this weekend that the weather around here will be pretty predictable as well.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are in the area this morning with temperatures again near 70. Rain chances will diminish this afternoon. Saturday appears to be mostly sunny and warmer.
